The Most Incorrect Asexual On Tumblr

luka's completely self-indulgent fanblog

This is my lawn, you just play on it.

Can I just say thank you for making me feel better about being 31 and a Homestuck fan. I know that’s probably weird to say and I hope not offputting but sometimes I really feel so out of place in the fandom but then you come along talking about things that I can relate to - Labyrinth or The Sandman (both of which were huge influences on me, I have a tattoo of Delirium actually) and idk. It just makes me feel better I guess, haha. Weird thing to be thanking you for I know. But yes, Sandman! Love that series, I started it in like 97 or so I think and then just devoured everything Neil Gaiman did afterwards and forever. I got to meet Jill Thompson a couple of times, too, major highlight of my life haha. She was so much fun to talk to.
I know completely what you mean! Sometimes I’m like “wait, where are all the other people my age?” and get to feeling old.
But then I remember: Mine is the generation that created and shaped the internet culture that’s thriving right now. We never left. I’m not a relic, I’m the original digital. The genius of the web is that now we like-minded mutants can all play together here, outside of the bounds of offline social age divisions.
It’s kinda hard not to get possessive sometimes, though, when people who don’t know any better get all “LOL GRANDPA” on my shit,  because the only thing missing from the web my generation gave unto the world is the ability to perform arm burns and noogies on the occasional upstart kid on our lawn. Heavy is the crown, I guess, but it’s all ok when I get to go roll around in ponies and hamsteaks and know that I watched this all happen and contributed to its growth from the ground up.
 (And Jill Thompson RULES.)
